TRACY LAWRENCE ELECTED TO ALZHEIMER'S ASSOCIATION NATIONAL ADVISORY COUNCIL
DreamWorks Nashville recording artist Tracy Lawrence has been elected by the National Board of Directors of the Alzheimer's Association to membership in the organization's National Advisory Council for a term of three years.

Lawrence late grandmother Pirley Woods, 80, died of complications associated with Alzheimer's Disease in November, 2003. "I was so close to my grandmother," notes Lawrence. "It broke my heart to witness her mind being robbed of all of her memories and life experiences. This disease is dreadful and I'm eager to do what I can to help educate the public about Alzheimer's and to move toward the elimination of such suffering."

"We've made phenomenal progress in Alzheimer's disease research, and most people don't realize we're now talking about breakthroughs toward prevention in the next 10 years," said Sheldon Goldberg, president and CEO of the Alzheimer's Association. "We're grateful that Tracy will help us get the word out about new reasons for hope in Alzheimer's, and about the family services available from the Alzheimer's Association by calling (800) 272-3900. And, we want Tracy to encourage everyone to join the Alzheimer's Association's 'Maintain Your Brain' campaign: eat a healthy diet, exercise, and stay active to keep your brain healthy as you age."

Where scheduling allows, Lawrence will participate in national media events and interviews, sharing his personal experience with Alzheimer's disease and supporting the efforts of the Association. He's been invited to provide Congressional testimony and hopes to attend some of the Association's galas that take place in New York, Los Angeles, Washington DC and Chicago. Lawrence's new single titled "It's All How You Look At It," the second release from his DreamWorks Records debut STRONG, was the most added song at country radio it's first week out. This follow up to the hugely successful "Paint Me A Birmingham" single is already climbing national music trade charts. STRONG is just shy of gold certification.
