We had a great time last night at The Bluebird Cafe! What a great way to celebrate the 1 year anniversary of our company Lawrence Music Group! A speacial thank you to ASCAP and to all of you who made it out! We can't wait to do it again!

It was my first time at this event and let me TELL you, it will not be my last. From the moment we were seated, you could just feel the vibe of a great night about to happen. There was an excitement in the air as the artists began to come in and take their seats, which, by the way, were awesome, on account of the venue being so small. Not a bad seat to be had.
Then, from the moment the artists took their seats and began preparing, you could hear them, not only talking, and joking with each other, but engaging the fans, as well, waving to some, saying hello to others. That was a lot of fun, and they hadn't even begun singing yet!
By the time the show started, it actually felt more like a bunch of friends just hanging out, jamming together, and less like a concert. It's how they made us feel, and when they finally began singing, wow! Awesomeness is the word I would use to describe it.
Tracy was his usual self, at the top of his game, if you ask ME, and as they took turns doing songs, the music only got better and better and the euphoria in the room was intense, what a rush!
I think what I enjoyed the most, is that in between songs, they shared a lot of things with the fans in a warm and engaging way, and between THEMSELVES, there was a lot of joking around and taking shots at each other that was hilarious to watch. I always knew Tracy was great with his fans, having been to several of his shows, already, but at this event, the camaradarie with his group was not only great, but a lot of fun see.
When Tracy sang "Pills" the crowd errupted. Most of us knew the song by the heart so we sang along, AND you could hear reactions and laughter throughout the song, it was so much fun! I'm tellin ya, the song is a HIT!
Lacey Brown was a joy to see and hear. She's not only beautiful but she has one of the purest and most incredible singing voices I've heard in a very long time. She's funny, too. That was a treat.
Jonny Houlihan, I've never heard of but boy was I glad he was there. He not only sings well, but he writes some great songs, AND he had us laughing so hard. He definitely fits in well with the LMG Group.
Rick Huckaby, much like Tracy, was his usual self, at the top of HIS game. I knew he could sing, but he did some new material from his upcoming cd and all I can say is, RUN, don't walk, to go get it when it hits the stores, okay? I love, love, love hearing him sing.
And Flip Anderson wasn't someone I was expecting to hear sing because I never had before, but when he did, it was great.
When they announced that they were doing they're last song each, you could hear the crowd yelling "Nooooooo!" We just wanted it to go on and on and on.
Afterward, they took the time to pose for photos and chat for a moment, only adding more to an already incredible night. A real class act, as far as I'M concerned. I'm so glad I went, it was a whole lot more than just a concert, it was an experience to last a lifetime, for sure!
