Tracy Lawrence joined the ranks of Texas greats this past weekend (8/10) in Carthage, Texas, where he was inducted into the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame. Lawrence, a Texas native, also took to the stage to perform his country classic “Texas Tornado.” Other 2024 inductees included Roy Orbison and the Mandrell Sisters. Watch a recap video of the night here.
“I’m so honored. For those who don’t know, I was born in Atlanta, Texas. I appreciate your graciousness and hospitality of everyone here in Carthage, it’s been such a great day for us,” said Lawrence at the ceremony. “It’s not really a job, it’s a lifestyle. I love it. I still love it as much as I ever did.”
Lawrence has earned his right to the induction with a decorated career, notching over 1B global streams, 13M albums sold and 18 No. 1 singles. Hits like “Time Marches On,” “Paint Me A Birmingham,” “Find Out Who Your Friends Are” and more have solidified Lawrence’s spot in country music – from the ’90s until now – with The Tennessean stating “the era in which he made music was so commercially and culturally impactful that it has touched three generations of country music fans.”
